St. Therese Primary School, Lenamore
I am delighted to welcome you to the St. Thérèse Primary
School, Lenamore website.

St. Thérèse P.S. Lenamore is situated on the outskirts of
Derry City. There are seventeen members of the teaching staff and ten classroom assistants. The school has an
enrolment of 375 pupils and serves a catchment area with
indicators of significant social deprivation. The school gives credence to the Code of Practice where we cater for the individual needs of each child.

The school is seen as a central component of the parish
and wider community and generally receives excellent
support from parents.  The school has a very structured
Pastoral Care Policy, which supports pupils and teachers.
A multi-agency support team (MAST) also operates within the school. Close links with local post-primary schools are in place and the school offers training/work experience to young people pursuing a qualification as in early years classroom assistants.

A range of after-school activities are offered including sports, ICT, homework clubs, music, dance and art and design. The school operates a Breakfast Club between 8.30 and 9am each day.

The school has developed an international dimension and
is involved with a Comenius Project funded by the British Council.  www.comeniusfriends.eu

We have hosted teachers from Washington DC and Zurich in our school. The school also hosts exchange language students.

St Therese P.S. Lenamore welcomes all initiatives that are
offered for the benefit of pupils and staff. Pupils have enjoyed  success in a variety of competitive and award bearing programmes.

The ethos of the school is vitally important and we as
teachers subscribe to the concept that pupils have only
one educational opportunity in childhood, and in order to
achieve their potential they are entitled to praise,
recognition, and encouragement to do their best.
