General Information
The School Day
School begins at 9.20 am. The children should arrive
no earlier than 9.10 am and no later than 9.20 am.

School ends at:
Years 1 and 2 - 2.00 pm and years 3 to 7 - 3.10 pm

Morning Break: 10.45 am - 11.00 am

Lunch Break: 12.30 pm - 1.10 pm

* During September Year 1 children go home at 12.30
pm

When parents are collecting children from school at
the normal time, it is requested that they remain
outside the school building until the children are
released from their classrooms.


Lunch
A hot school meal is provided at lunchtime. A four
weekly menu is given out at the start of the year and
the children can pay for school meals on a daily or
weekly basis. Those in receipt of free meals are
informed by WELB directly. Application for free
entitlement are available from WELB on request.
Provision is made in the school dining hall for those
who wish to eat their own packed lunch at mid-day
break.


Milk
Milk can be purchased by those pupils who wish to
have it at lunchtime. The payment is due at the
beginning of each term. No refunds or credits will be
given unless the child suffers a period of absence
longer than one week.


Absences
If your child is unable to attend school for whatever
reason you must inform the school by telephone that
morning so your child can be accounted for. If you
have contacted the school by telephone you will no
longer have to write an absentee note for your child.

Pupils are not allowed to leave the school grounds
during the day without prior permission. If your child
has an appointment during school eg dentist or
hospital, a note must be sent to the school with your
child.


Home/School Contact
Parental contact with the school is actively sought by
the teaching staff. Parents' support is essential in
working with the school for the child's benefit. The
school attempts to foster parental relationships
through:

* 'Sharing the Vision' - whole school meeting
* Regular informal contact
* Progress interviews - individual parents are asked to
meet their child's teacher to discuss progress. These
meetings take place during the first and 2nd terms.
* Invitations to school functions
* Involvement in class trips
* Paired Reading Initiative
* Curriculum Meetings
* Pre-school Programme
* School Newsletters
* 'Friends of St Patrick's' meetings and events
* Involvement in preparation of Sacraments
* Sacramental Meetings
* Prizegiving
* SEN Meetings


Uniform
The school has a uniform and it is expected that all
children wear it. It is also expected that children do
not come to school wearing inappropriate footwear or
jewellery.

Blue skirt
Navy jumper with crest/cardigan with crest
School tie
Navy trousers/skirt/pinafore

PE Kits:
Blue polo shirt (with or without crest)
Navy tracksuit bottoms
Navy shorts

PE Kits can be worn to school on appropriate days.
ALL pupils must wear the regulation PE uniform with
the school jumper only.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL ARTICLES OF
CLOTHING ARE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR
CHILD'S NAME.
