Our School
The general aims of the Board of Governors, Principal and Staff of St Joseph's Primary School
are:

(a) To continue to strengthen and preserve the Catholic Ethos which already permeates
throughout the school and by doing so help each child to develop a set of values and beliefs, which
reflects his/her Catholic faith.

(b) To provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all pupils in accordance with the Areas of
Learning of the Revised Curriculum.

(c) To promote a caring and happy environment for our children in which to work, enabling them to
develop in accordance with their own skills and ability to maximize his/her potential.

(d) To encourage parents to become more actively involved in the education of their children and
to help promote every aspect of the child's development.

(e) To foster strong links within the local community so that children become aware of the way in
which a school forms an integral part of the parish.

(f) Help children develop an understanding for their own heritage and culture and a tolerance of
others.

(g) Help pupils develop physically and become aware of the need for exercise and a healthy
lifestyle.
