We are delightedwith our new state-of-the-art new outdoor play areas within our school grounds. This has been made possible by successful approaches to Awards For All (£10,000) and WELB and our thanks go to both organisations for their help. Our Friends of the School committee have also contributed substantially to the project and the children have also been involved by running a Christmas disco which added £500 to the fund. Two areas have been developed - the Knockwellan entrance and the Church Gate entrance - both areas were open to the pupils from April 2009. As these images show, the equipment chosen has been hugely popular with our pupils and our facilities are also available to the local pre-school groups at Trench Road Nursery and Jack & Jill Playgroup. In the next 3 years, we aim to further develop each area by adding more equipment and incorporating new landscaping ideas. This will add yet a new dimension to our school as we continue to provide the very best for our pupils and wider community. |
