Welcome to Sacred Heart Primary School - a popular Catholic co-educational school
which has served the greater Waterside area of Derry since first opening its doors in
1979. Originally known as Trench Road PS, the school changed its name to Sacred
Heart PS from September 2009 to mark 30 years of providing Catholic education to
children from across the city.
As a school community, we pride ourselves in providing a Christ-centred, high-quality
education in all its various aspects. We set high standards for all our pupils and have
high expectations of each and every one of them.
We are very proud of the fact that we have a happy, child-centred school that aims to
develop independence in each individual - making them ready for their next challenging
