Queen Elizabeth II Primary School, Kilskeery

Welcome to the website of Queen Elizabeth II Primary School.

The school strives to present pupils with lively and exciting learning experiences which enable them to fulfil the Northern Ireland Curriculum requirements with enthusiasm and to attain the targets that are within their abilities.

At our last full inspection by the Education and Training Inspectorate (eti) we were delighted to be awarded the highest descriptor attainable and were deemed "outstanding". This has been corroborated by different inspectors in subsequent monitoring inspections. We aim to maintain this standard for all current and future pupils.

The school was built in 1953, the Coronation Year of HM Queen Elizabeth II, and is situated on a pleasant rural site behind Kilskeery Parish Church. There is an extensive tarmac area and grass playing field at the rear of the school where children are safe at playtimes. A new Play Trail was installed in August 2011 and this provides additional activities for all pupils. The garden at the front of the school was designed in the shape of a crown and was opened as part of the school's 50th Anniversary celebrations in June 2003. The grounds have been recently enhanced by the addition of a designated car parking area for staff, leaving the front of the school more accessible to parents and visitors.
