Victorian Children
In Victorian times life was hard on Victorian
children. They had a lot of chores to do. Boys
had to chop firewood, while girls had to help
their mothers with cooking and cleaning. Even
in all this hard work, there was little money to
pay for shoes and clothes. Boys even wore
dresses until the age of five.
There was little time for playing if you were
in a working family. You even had to make the
toys yourself! If you were a wealthy child
though life was a lot different. You had no
chores to do and you had better toys. You
were brought up in a nursery, and were
expected to be very polite.

It was
terrible
they had
no mobiles!
