Anne's family had to leave Germany and move to Amsterdam in holland because Adolf Hitler was killing Jews. Anne didn't want to leave but knew her family had no choice and they would pay the price if they didn't. The family settled in their new home but it wasn't long before the nazis invaded Holland taking only four days to overtake Amsterdam.
