As we still may experience bad weather, please note that if the decision is taken to close the school, it will be posted here as soon as possible and also relayed to the BBC at www.bbc.co.uk/ninews where it will be added to the lists of other schools closed.

We have also set up a mobile text service, which will be activated shortly, so we hope to be able to text messages with important information as soon as possible.

Make sure you have returned your reply slip from the letter home requesting your preferred mobile number to receive these texts .

Newtownstewart Model Primary School is situated in County Tyrone between Omagh and Strabane, in the vibrant village of Newtownstewart.

Our staff and current enrolment of 63 students enjoy beautiful, extensive grounds and a spacious, well-equipped school building. Our staff consists of 5 teachers and 3 classroom assistants.  Our building supervisor and cleaning staff keep the premises in tip-top condition and our secretary ensures a smooth day-to-day running of the school.  We are lucky enough to have a catering kitchen in our site, which also supplies other local schools and our cook and her staff provide nutritious home-cooked meals each day.
