Curriculum and Staff Development: The staff began the year with an exceptional closure day when all attended an Accelerated Learning course run by the inspirational Alastair Smith. They returned to school re-enthused and were able to share some of the knowledge with Parents at the Annual Parents' Meeting 2003 which was hald the week after. In Literacy, now well-established programs ran as usual. P2/3 children benefited from Reading Recovery and P4/5 children undertook a Paired Reading Scheme. As in previous years the development of Numeracy was addressed with an Action Plan which focused on building on the work of previous years within Mental Maths. Staff also continued to work on the development of the supporting paperwork - schemes and policy for this subject. |
