The Sperrin Restaurant was first opened in 1982, by
Peter McBride and Ciaran Ward, two budding businessmen, looking to establish
their run of property and business into the Restaurant market, Peter having been
in Retail and Ciaran having been in Building.
The first year of the Restaurant was almost an overnight
success, after the year spent building the actual restaurant in 1981. The
Restaurant has expanded again, due to large amounts of customers, and thus the
Sperrin was made alot bigger, as an extension of the Restaurant, as well as the
Sperrin Bar was opened for customers in 1990. From here, the budding success of
the Sperrin Restaurant only got better, with Critics in Northern Ireland
claiming it was one of the best Family Restaurants in Northern Ireland, and the
Sperrin Bar has won awards for the Best Pub in County and Northern Ireland
multiple times.
More recently, the Sperrin has become a favourite for
the Tyrone County Football Team, who regularly pop in for a meal after tough
matches across Ireland. Also, the crowds flock into the Sperrin Bar when they
are playing, so much so that it has become a hotspot for those unlucky not to
get tickets to the big matches.
The Sperrin Restaurant Cooking Staff are regarded as
"Absolute Professionals", and have been renound for putting a
Mediterrainian twist to Irish Favourites
