Primary 5 recently visited An Creaghan centre, outside Omagh , where they engaged in studies connected to early man in the Stone Age period in Ireland. They made model axes, thumb and ring pots and toured an exhibit designed to give them a greater understanding of what they have been studying in history in school. The visit also gave the children another opportunity to work with the pupils of St. Anne's P.S. and Strabane P.S.with whom we are involved in a long running E.M.U. project. The Education for Mutual Understanding programme has been in place in our school for almost 20 years. We were one of the first schools to be involved. Indeed, Barrack St. was in it before it had it's name. |
We had a wonderful time. We learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves. Food never tasted better than on our picnic and our play was a bit of an adventure! |
