DATES FOR YOUR DIARY Monday 1st May School Closed - BANK HOLIDAY Wednesday 3rd School Photographer - Please refer to earlier letter for details Wednesday 10th Non Uniform Day Wednesday 17th Investors in People Presentation - Hillsborough Castle - 2pm Friday 19th Nursery Assembly Friday 19th Book Fair delivered Wednesday 24th Health Promoting School Award Presentation - 10.30am Thursday 25th Open Afternoon - 1.00pm - 3.00pm Friday 26th School Closed - EXCEPTIONAL CLOSING Monday 29th School Closed - BANK HOLIDAY COME DRESSED AS A BOOK CHARACTER TO SCHOOL: On Thursday 25th May ALL CHILDREN in school are asked to come to school dressed as a character from a book.. The characters will be judged at the Open Afternoon which will commence at 1.00pm. Please see the section about the OPEN DAY below. OPEN DAY: This year's OPEN DAY will commence at 1.00pm in the school Assembly Hall. As in previous years ALL PARENTS are encouraged to attend. Judging of the Book Character Competition will take place at 1.15pm. From 2.00pm onwards, parents may tour the school with their children. The Book Fair is will also be here which provides a fantastic opportunity to purchase good reading material. TESCO COMPUTER VOUCHERS - USED INK CARTRIDGES / OLD MOBILE PHONES: Each family will receive two recycling envelopes for your use. Please return any used ink cartridges and mobile phones which the school can redeem for points in the Tesco Computers for Schools promotion. Many thanks! BREAKFAST CLUB: Breakfast Club continues to operate from 8.30am - 9.00am. CAR PARK: In the interest of children's safety in school parents are asked NOT to drive into the school grounds. Please use the lay-by area at the front of the school and walk to either the Nursery Unit or Primary School. Many thanks for your support in this matter. APRIL MONTHLY AWARDS: None due to Easter holidays. COLD / DAMP WEATHER: Children are encouraged to have a suitable coat to wear in school during cold and damp weather. It is still very cold for this time of the year. Thanks. TEACHING AWARDS: Following the visit by judges in April, we are delighted that the school has been shortlisted down to the last three in Northern Ireland in the Healthy School Award category. MOBILE PHONES: Some children continue to ignore the guidelines on the use of mobile phones in schools as advised by the WELB. Please ensure that the school's policy is respected. EXPLORERS CLUB - EXTREME TEAM: Attendance at this after school club led by the EXTREME TEAM has not be as good as it was at the beginning.
