Queen Victoria
Princess Victoria was born in 1819. When she
was 18 her uncle, King William, died and she
became queen. Queen Victoria ruled from 1837
to 1901. She was queen to Canada and parts of
Africa too. In 1887 and 1897 there were huge
Jubilee celebrations to mark her fiftieth and
sixtieth years of queen.
Queen Victoria had married a man named
Albert. They had 9 children. Albert died in
1861, just 40 years of age. The queen was
heartbroken and spent most of her time in
Scotland, where they spent many years together.
She died in 1901 when she was 82 years old.
