The Early Years Enriched Curriculum is a programme designed to be sensitive to the way young children learn naturally. By teaching children things that are appropriate to their age and development, they are more likely to succeed. In this way, they are better prepared for more formal work later on and are much more likely to be motivated and eager to learn. |

Creativity will be encouraged through all areas of the curriculum, particularly in role play, dance, music and art and design activities. Emphasis will continue to be placed on social, emotional and physical development. Oral language skills will continue to be fostered and as children develop early literacy skills, they will move on to more formal reading and writing activities when teachers judge they are ready.
